Dr. Sokhi Sandhu
Dr. Sokhi Sandhu, General Dentist
Born and raised in Kelowna BC, Dr. Sandhu was motivated to explore a natural and biological approach to dentistry after members of his family, friends and existing patients suffered from systemic autoimmune diseases.
After attending Okanagan University College (now UBC Okanagan), Dr. Sandhu learned about the traditional medicine industry while briefly enrolled in the pharmacy program at the University of Alberta before following his passion for studying dentistry. Upon graduating from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the University of British Columbia in 2006, Dr. Sandhu moved with his wife to the small mining community of Sparwood BC, where he served as a family dentist and performed many complicated procedures due to a lack of dental specialists.
After four years in the East Kootenays, Dr. Sandhu moved back to Kelowna, where he purchased Spall Dental, now known as LifeStrength Dental.
Shore Dental Centre is the result of Dr. Sandhu's studies in integrative medicine and dentistry, and his desire to provide Okanagan residents with effective oral health care, using safe, natural agents and non-invasive methods to heal the body.
When not treating his valued patients, you can find Dr. Sandhu on the soccer field, riding his bike, playing tennis or golf, volunteering, and spending quality time with his wife and two children.

What Is A Dental Implant?
The implant body or post is the portion of the implant that is inserted into the jawbone. The implant body integrates with the jawbone and becomes the anchor for the new tooth.
The implant abutment is the portion of the dental implant inside the crown. Sometimes the abutment is created with the implant body as one piece. Other times, it is separate and attached to the implant with a screw. The abutment shapes the gum tissue and supports the crown.
The dental implant crown is the portion of the dental implant you see, but if done correctly, no one can tell it is not a natural tooth. The crown is bonded or cemented to the implant abutment and is commonly made of a ceramic or zirconia material because of its naturally white color and strength.
